MONGOLIA AND JAPAN AIM TO ATTRACT INVESTMENTS FROM PRIVATE SECTOR

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Minister for Mineral Resource and Energy D.Zorigt had paid an official visit to Japan at an invitation of the government of the country.
During this visit, the Japanese side expressed a willingness to cooperate with Mongolia in processing coal by environmentally-friendly ways and contribute to decreasing air pollution in Ulaanbaatar city.
Two countries agreed that the sides should expand investments of private sector to the biggest projects in order to bring the bilateral ties into a new level. Thus, the sides agreed to prepare trained staffs and to develop comprehensive collaboration introduced new techniques and technologies in many sectors with an aim to attract investments from private sector.
During the visit, the Mongolia's Ministry for Mineral Resource and Energy and the Japan's Agency for Natural Resources and Energy have signed a contract on starting a work of researching geological resources in Mongolia.
In addition to it, the sides agreed to conduct a joint research on attracting investments from private sector and to render support to Mongolia in respect of a document signed between Mongolia and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).
The sides also shared views on realizing the agreement on constructing a new international airport.
The first stage of the two-stage developmental official assistance to be rendered from Japan to Mongolia has USD 29 million. The second stage of the assistance is expected to have more size of money than first stage.
