Tripartite committee formed to monitor security of Bushehr NPP

A tripartite committee has been formed to monitor security of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, an official said here.


Nasser Rastkhah, who is the chief of country’s nuclear security system, made the remarks in an exclusive interview with IRNA.

He said that given the imminent full implementation of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, a tripartite committee comprising Iran’s nuclear security system, Russia’s nuclear security system and the manager of the project has been formed to ensure security of the Bushehr power plant.

He said the committee is charged with checking the security of the power plant form all different aspects.

He further noted that the committee will be accountable to the Iranian nation at the first stage and then to the International Atomic Energy Agency and the international community about the security of the Bushehr power plant.

Stressing that all parts used in the power plant have been inspected for three time so far, the official noted that in the coming 15-21 days comprehensive tests will be conducted in the reactor to make sure that optimum security standards are available in the power plant.
