Iranian VP opens Assalouyeh gas pipeline

First Vice-President of Iran Mohammad-Reza Rahimi inaugurated on Monday the Assalouyeh gas pipeline project to Iranshahr.


Oil Minister Massoud Mir-Kazemi was also present in the opening ceremony.

This pipeline will transfer gas from Assalouyeh in the southern province of Bushehr to Iranshahr in the southeastern province of Sistan-Balouchestan. The project had taken five years with a cost of 29,000 billion rials.

The 902-kilometer pipe for gas supply of eastern regions is also aimed at exporting gas to Pakistan and India within a project named “peace pipeline.”
