Al Qirbi meets Friends' ambassadors

SANA'A, Aug. 22 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Abu
Bakr al Qirbi met on Sunday with ambassadors of Friends of Yemen Group in Sana'a.
The meeting
focused on the latest developments regarding the working groups of the friends as
well as arrangements for the ministerial meeting of the group in September in New
York.
Al Qirbi reviewed the tasks of the working groups and reforms Yemen has implemented
since the Friends Group was announced early this year at a London summit on Yemen.
He
urged Yemen's friends to work together during the New York meeting to start
practical steps and demonstrate clear commitment to supporting Yemen. At the
meeting, British
envoy Tim Torlot reviewed arrangements for the meeting, saying its main goal is to
push the work of Yemen's friends and give the group political directions to activate
its
work. The envoys of the Netherlands and Germany discussed the developments within
the teams of justice and rule of law and economy and wise governance. Al Qirbi also
met
with ambassadors of the European Union member states in Yemen. The meetings
discussed ways to boost the bilateral ties with the union and cooperation within the
framework
of Friends of Yemen Group. FR
