Priorities Office continues discussing second priority

SANA'A, Aug. 22 (Saba) - The
Priorities Ministerial Executive Office continued on Sunday during the meeting
chaired
by Premier Ali Mujawar discussing mechanisms for implementing the second priority
over absorbing Yemeni workers in Arabian Gulf markets according to the vision of
McKenzie
Consulting.
Comments were submitted by the office and the representative of the Qatari Selatich
Foundation to develop the vision.
In the light of the discussion, the office asked McKenzie Consulting to absorb the
comments and prepare the vision in its final form as well as discussing suitable
mechanisms
for implementing the second priority of the ten priorities of the government with
the competent authorities.
The vision suggests increasing the rate of Yemeni workers in Gulf markets by 9-20
per cent.
The meeting also discussed the ninth priority over brining quick solutions to the
problems of the water sector that can ensure new water resources and limit the
depletion
of existent water basins.
The priority aims, according to the vision of the international firm, to establish
a working approach to face all water challenges in the country according to
specific timetables.
It also aims to review necessary steps to achieve sustainable water resources
through an integrated strategy as well as making an organizational change to make
the priority
a success and distribute roles and responsibilities.
It focused on the Sana'a basin as an experimental project to deal with the current
water situation and suggested several policies and measures to achieve water
sustainability
at the basin through reducing water consumption and improving distribution abilities
and irrigation systems.
Among the suggested measures were also increasing water desalination resources as a
final option, retransferring water and supplying each home with rainwater
collection
systems and using the groundwater tanks in the Ramlat al Sabaitain.
