171 antique pieces foiled to be smuggled via Sana'a airport
SANA'A, July 26 (Saba)- Security systems managed to foil smuggling attempts of 171 antique pieces at Sana'a InternationalAirport during the first half of 2008.
These antique pieces are reported to have been possessed by 10 people of Yemeni,Arab and foreign nationals.
Director of Antiquities Office at Sana'a International Airport Ali al-Mahsani has stated to Saba that those pieces, which refer back to the Islam and pre-Islam periods,include a number of bronze and stone statutes, stone stamps, coins, scripts and others.
