Two boats arrive off coast in 24 hours

The navy has intercepted the second suspected boat carrying asylum seekers to arrive
off Australia's shores in the last 24 hours.
The latest boat has an estimated 20 passengers and one crew member on board.
It was spotted northeast of Scott Reef, off the Western Australian Kimberley coast,
on Sunday afternoon.
Minister for Home Affairs Brendan O'Connor said HMAS Bundaberg crew boarded the
vessel and will transfer the asylum seekers to Christmas Island where they will
undergo security, health and identity checks.
The latest interception comes a day after a boat carrying 23 passengers and two crew
was intercepted late on Saturday, near Ashmore Island.
The latest arrival takes to 82 the number of asylum seeker vessels intercepted in
Australian waters in 2010.
