PRESIDENT YUDHOYONO TO ATTEND TOC
Jakarta, July 26 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to attend the "Trail of Civilization" (TOC) event at Borobudur Temple in Magelang district, Central Java, on Saturday evening.
As part of ASEAN countries cooperation, TOC will be an annual event at Borobudur Temple to attract tourist visits to the world's civilization site in Central Java district of Magelang.
Besides President Yudhoyono, the TOC event will also be attended by foreign countries' ambassadors in Jakarta, and the culture and tourism ministers of ASEAN countries.
The event will be held at Lumbini Park at the east side of Borobudur Temple which was built in the eighth century during Syailendra dynasty.
Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia have been cooperating to organize the Trail of Civilization since 2006 and to make this year's event on Saturday night a success.
TOC organizing committee spokesman Totok Lestiyo said the TOC featuring "The Journey of Buddha", is expected to attract more tourists from 12 Asian countries including Japan, South Korea, and China.
