Ahmadinejad: Defending Iran means trying to set up universal peace
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said defending Iran meant the same as conducting efforts to set up sustainable peace and security in the world.
Making the remark on Sunday during ceremonies to mark the national day of defense industry, he also stressed that Iran was the only source of hope for nations because the Islamic Revolution was the sole power capable of stirring up big waves of human beings against enemies of the humanity.
Outlining the reasons for the importance of the task of defending Iran, he said although the issue of defending the country has always been a significant one, it holds even further importance at the present juncture.
He said defending Iran did not mean merely protecting a geographical territory, a tribe or a nation, but it nowadays meant defending the achievements and ideals of all divine prophets throughout the history.
He said defending Iran today was to defend the will to carry out the standard of justice, monotheism, purity and love throughout the world.
Describing as “greedy” the hegemonic powers now dominating the world, he said this group of countries wage wars to ensure their economic profits, kill millions of people and do all kinds of treachery to take control of the sources belonging to other nations.
The president also noted that such countries and people spend the whole humanity to line their own pockets. Referring to the present situations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay Prison and Palestine, he said even in Europe they have acted in a way that nothing is been left of the dignity of people, families and the humanity at large .
