AZERI BOXER INTO FINAL AT SINGAPORE OLYMPICS
Baku, August 22 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani boxer Salman Alizade is one step away from claiming Olympic crown in Singapore after destroying host Mohd Hamid.
Alizade, a world champion, beat the Singaporean 9-1 in the 48kg weight category.
The gold-medal bout will see the Azeri boxer lock horns with the winner of the Irish Ryan Barnett vs Uzbek Zohidjon Khurboyev encounter.
Azerbaijan`s another hope Elvin Isayev has made it to the semifinal in the 57kg weight category yesterday after defeating Mongolia`s Anakhd Dashdor 13-2.
He will take on Venezuela`s Fradimir Makayo in the last four round layer in the day.
