Two seriously injured in Vic bus crash

Two people were seriously injured and eight others sustained minor injuries when a
bus rolled over in central Victoria.
The 26-seater rolled shortly after 5pm (AEST) on Saturday on the corner of the
Calder Highway and Monsants Road in Maiden Gully, west of Bendigo.
The injured passengers were flown to Melbourne, while the others were taken by
ambulance to Bendigo, an Ambulance Victoria spokesman said.
The smash followed three deaths involving vehicles on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to Melaluka Road, Leopold, near Geelong, about 6am
(AEST) to extinguish a fire in a Holden sedan. Two people were found dead inside the
car.
Police said it appeared the car had lost control and hit a pole.
The occupants of the car are yet to be identified and police are investigating
whether speed was a factor in the crash.
Elsewhere, a 29-year-old man from Berwick in Melbourne died while riding a trailbike
in the Moondarra State Park, in the Latrobe Valley.
Police believe two riders became entangled on the Wild Cow Track and fell off their
bikes about 11.30am.
The men were part of a group of nine who were trailbike riding.
The deaths take the state's road toll to 208, compared with 189 at the same time
last year.
