Hockey would bet on hung parliament

Opposition treasury spokesman Joe Hockey has tipped a hung parliament after very
early counting.
Asked whether the best the coalition could hope for was a majority of two or three
seats, Mr Hockey said "I suspect that's right".
"It will be very, very close," he told ABC Television.
"If I was a betting man I'd say the most likely result is some sort of hung
parliament, but I'm not a betting man."
Mr Hockey was more certain about the future of the Labor Party.
"Whether they win or whether they lose, I think they'll tear themselves apart," he
said.
His comments came with 11 per cent of the national vote counted.
The coalition needs 17 Labor seats to win the election by garnering a uniform swing
of 2.3 per cent across the country. But the government can lose its absolute
majority if it loses 13 seats.
