Bushehr power plant, an indication to Iran-Russia friendship
A Russian State Duma official said here on Saturday that putting into operation of the Bushehr nuclear power plant is an indication to Iran-Russia cooperation and friendship.
Talking to IRNA, Hafiz Salehov, chairman of the Russia-Iran parliamentary friendship group referred to the importance of the power plant, saying Russia played a key role in the process of construction and preparation of the nuclear plant.
He reiterated that the most developed technologies have been used in construction of the Bushehr power plant, adding that the plant is enjoying very high security.
Putting into operation of the Bushehr power plant is a crucial event in Tehran-Moscow bilateral relations and would increase the confidence-building level between the two neighboring states, Salehov noted.
The operation of transferring nuclear fuel to the Bushehr nuclear power plant was carried out this morning in the presence of Vice-President and Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) Ali-Akbar Salehi and Sergei Kiriyenko, Director of the Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency.
Launching the Bushehr nuclear power plant proved the world that Moscow is committed to all its undertakings, he stressed.
The Bushehr plant will prove the reality that Iran-Russia nuclear cooperation is based on peaceful objectives, the Duma official said, adding that it will also have positive impact on the process of Tehran-Moscow cooperation within the framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
He underlined the need for materialization of all agreements signed between the two countries particularly those in the areas of energy.
