CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The cabinet meeting on Wednesday discussed a draft resolution of parliament “On withdraw of some parts of sanctuaries areas and altering frontiers of the reserved areas”. Worked out by L.Gundalai, D.Odbayar, B.Batbayar and D.Arvin MPs, the draft resolution was not backed.
The initiators of the draft resolution want to withdraw some parts of the lands from the Bogd Khaan Mountain natural reserve and from such an area in eastern Mongolia. Rejecting such an idea, the cabinet members took into considertation two facts--the above areas are involved in the net of reserved areas for world biosphere, secondly, this step would be made in favour of law breaching entities and juridical persons.
Head of the Cabinet Secretary of Government Ch.Khurelbaatar presnted a report of the Government's work done in the first half of 2010. He said the Government managed to solve urgent problems, realize the biggest works that significantly contributed to the socio-economic development, increase income of people and to improve their livelihood. The cabinet paid a great attention to overcoming natural disasters and zud with less damage, to assisting herdsmen and to making ploughed areas. He added that the Government drew up a draft investment contract of exploitation of the Tavan tolgoi deposit and submitted it to the State Great Khural.
The Government held 43 meetings, discussed 553 issues, made some decisions, of which 18 were submitted to the National Security Council (NSC), four--to the President, 6--to parliament, 8 issues were consulted with parliamentary Standing committees, and 34 issues were submitted to draft law initiators. In connection with some matters, orders of the Prime Minister and governmental resolutions were issued.
The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy was ordered to sell out at market price a fuel reserved with capital of the National Development Strategy to those entities that hold the license of running fuel and petroleum products wholesale pursuant to related contract. The Minister of Finance was obliged to place money to the state budget from revenue of this selling within November 15, 2010.
The cabinet decided to organize the 14th meeting of Mongolia-Vietnam inter-governmental commission on trade, economics, science and technical cooperation August 26-30 in Ulaanbaatar.
The “Gashuun sukhait” border checkpoint in Omnogobi aimag was included in the list of the border checkpoints that are allowed to pass chemical poisonous and dangerous substances.
Money will be allotted from the governmental fund to cover medical treatment of J.Badamjunai, a parachute technician of the Rescue Unit at National Emergency Management Agency. He was injured in a crash of MI-8 helicopter during a rescue mission in 2007.
The cabinet decided to organize the 4th Children's Sports Festival from October 1, 2010 to August 20, 2011. In addition to it, the 1st Children's Winter Sports Games of World Mongolians will be held February of 2011, the “Mongolia-2011” international shooting competitions--May, 2011, the “Chingis Khaan's Cup” judo world cup--July in Orkhon aimag, and the Taekwondo World Championships--September in Ulaanbaatar city.
