BPK TO AUDIT COAL MINING MANAGEMENT IN 2ND SEMESTER 2008
Jakarta, July 25 (ANTARA) - The State Audit Board (BPK) will focus its auditing activities in the second semester of 2008 on the management of coal mining because this sector experienced a boom following the surges in the world oil price, BPK chief Anwar Nasution said.
"In our audits, we will particularly look at the calculations of non-tax state revenues (PNBP), income from production-sharing contracts and exclusively regional sources (PAD) in the coal mining sector," Nasution said here on Friday.
The BPK chief was speaking at the opening of a working meeting of BPK executives.
He said BPK would also examine coal mining contracts and the impact of coal mining activities on the environment.
Besides on coal mining, the BPK would also focus its auditing activities in the second half of 2008 on the oil and gas sector, according to Nasution.
"We will audit the oil and gas sector by evaluating the propriety of the selling prices of LNG (liquefied natural gas), procurement of crude and refined oil products," the BPK chairman said.
The implementation of production sharing contracts in regard to lifting and cost recovery would also be audited, he said.
