PRIME MINISTER RECEIVES VICE-CHAIRMAN OF PLA


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister of Mongolia S.Batbold received Thursday a delegation led by General Ma Xiaotian, the Vice-Chairman of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of the People's Republic of China. China's delegation has arrived in Mongolia to participate in the annual consultative meeting of the Mongolia-China defense sector.
Beginning the meeting, the Premier underlined that the Mongolia-China relations and cooperation, including the bilateral cooperation of the Armed Forces, have been developing successfully. As an example, he mentioned that the Chinese side effectively cooperates with Mongolia in training its servicemen in military schools and courses of China, in co-organizing joint field exercises and rendering non-refundable aid.
The Prime Minister underlined that Mongolia's Armed Forces have had a rehabilitation center at non-refundable aid from China's Defense Ministry, and that this center considerably supports and encourages the Mongolian peacekeepers who are serving in the world's hot spots.
Mr. Batbold emphasized a vital importance of the joint military exercises for peacekeeping that successfully took place July 2009 in China with a great contribution to the bilateral defense sector. He said servicemen of the PLA can take part in the "Khaan Quest" international field exercises.
"...China is a member of the UN Security Council, thus our countries have a big opportunity to develop a collaboration in ensuring international and regional security and peacekeeping operations within the UN cooperation," Mr. Batbold stressed.
In his turn, Mr. Xiaotian thanked the Premier for the audience and conveyed a greeting from Wen Jiabao, the Prime Minister of China, to Mr. Batbold.
General Ma Xiaotian highly spoke a present level of the bilateral relations and cooperation, including the cooperation in the defense sector.
