Tigers lose Gibbs for three weeks

The Wests Tigers are desperately hoping they won't be without two key props for
Sunday's massive NRL clash with Parramatta.
The Tigers have lost Bryce Gibbs to a knee injury which will sideline him for up to
three weeks, while Keith Galloway is no certainty to play at Parramatta Stadium as
he recovers from concussion.
"(Gibbs) doesn't miss many games but his work rate will be missed," Tigers coach Tim
Sheens said.
"His defence has been very, very good, as good as anyone in the comp I think."
Sheens was hopeful Galloway, who was named on Tuesday, will make it back.
"We're hoping so, but protocols have to be followed and we'll just have to wait and
see," he said.
Todd Payten has been named to partner Galloway in the front row with two-try hero
Andrew Fifita and veteran John Skandalis on the bench.
"Andrew had a good game, backing up will be the issue," Sheens said of Fifita's
performance in the 43-18 thrashing of Penrith last Sunday.
"A bit of publicity can be good or it can be bad, so we'll see how he handles it but
I was happy with his contribution, albeit you've got to remember it was off the
bench and it was a small spell.
"He's only a young front-rower just out of (under) 20s so we're not expecting him to
carry the side."
Parramatta half Daniel Mortimer, who was rested for last Friday's win over Brisbane,
is missing from an Eels side needing a victory to keep their finals hopes alive.
North Queensland have named second-rower Scott Bolton for Saturday's Reconciliation
Cup clash with Canterbury despite him appearing at the judiciary on a biting charge
on Wednesday night.
The Dogs welcome back fullback Luke Patten (back) and bench utility Ben Barba (eye).
Manly expect teenager William Hopoate (hamstring) to take his place at fullback in
Saturday's crucial match against the Warriors.
Gold Coast have again named Greg Bird (hamstring) on their bench for Monday night's
clash with the Sydney Roosters.
Bird was named to make his return in Friday night's win over North Queensland but
withdrew.
Penrith have switched backs Brad Tighe and Adrian Purtell for Friday's clash with
South Sydney.
Recently re-signed Tighe will move into the centres with Purtell shifting to the wing.
Souths have named Michael Crocker in their starting side at lock.
