SCO Day to be held at Baikal Int'l Economic Forum.

IRKUTSK, August 17 (Itar-Tass) -- The Day of the Shanghai Cooperation
Organization (SCO) will be held at the Baikal International Economic Forum
on September 9. It is planed to be held in the format of an enlarged
meeting of the board of the Business Council of the organization.
As ITAR-TASS learnt at the press service of the forum on Tuesday, the
arrival of the official delegations of the SCO member-countries - -
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well
as Mongolia as an observer has been already confirmed. Besides,
representatives of the business community of the above mentioned states
will take part in the meeting. In particular, Russia will be represented
by such companies and credit-financial institutions as Bazovy Element,
Vnesheconombank, Ilim, Mechel, Rosneft, Russian Railways, Sever Stal
Group, Sogaz, Transneft and others.
SCO General Secretary Muratbek Imanaliyev and chairman of the board of
the Business Council governor of the Irkutsk Region Dmitry Mezentsev will
open the meeting. The meeting participants are to discus issues of holding
a regular trade and economic forum of the organization devoted to border
cooperation, realization of promising projects in the field of energy,
transport infrastructure, innovations, extraction and processing of raw
materials, venture capital, insuring and medicine.
"During the whole SCO Day, its participants will stay on board the
motor ship of the East-Siberian River Steamship Line "Imperia" which will
navigate Baikal.
