UN official urges Israel to end Gaza Siege
Kuala Lumpur, Aug 17, IRNA – A senior UN official Tuesday underscored the need for lifting the Gaza Siege by the Zionist regime.
Talking to IRNA, UN Under-Secretary-General for Communication and Public Information Kiyotaka Akasaka said UN Chief Ban Ki-moon has also called on Israel to rapidly lift the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
Referring to various problems faced by the Gazans as a result of the ongoing siege, he outlined great efforts made so far by his organization to assist the Palestinian nation living in the Gaza Strip.
Akasaka is currently in Malaysia to attend an international meeting in that Asian country./end
