Higher Budget Committee discusses its framework for 2011-2013

SANA'A, Aug. 15
(Saba)- The Higher Budget Committee discussed in its meeting on Sunday, chaired by
Prime Minister
Ali Mujawar, draft of the medium-term general framework and ceilings of the state
general budget for the years 2011- 2013.
Minister of Finance Numan al-Suhaibi reviewed, in the meeting, the draft framework,
making clear that the draft primarily focuses on the economic stability via
containing
inflation rate in addition to other significant measures.
He pointed out that the general framework was designed in a way to support the
encouraging spending for growth to lead a real expansion for the gross domestic
product.
The minister indicated that they put in mind reinforcement of the government
efforts in supporting the monetary policies to activate the non-oil revenues
through implementing
the financial and customs laws, particularly public sales tax.
Prime Minister, Mujawar, directed the Technical Committee to review the general
framework on the light of the notes presented in this regard, specially directives
of the
national agendas for comprehensive reform.
He emphasized the importance of concentrating on improving the non-oil revenues,
topped by taxes and customs revenues at the local and central levels, affirming the
necessity
of the responsible implementation of the enforced laws organizing for this process.
