German rally demands end to Israel's ethnic cleansing

Berlin, Aug 16, IRNA - Anti-Israel protesters in Berlin on Sunday demanded an end to the ongoing ethnic cleansing by the Zionist regime in the West Bank and Jerusalem, according to IRNA.
Organized by the Berlin-based Palestinian community, demonstrators, among them also German Jews critical of Israel, voiced their outrage over the Jewish state's Judaization of Jerusalem and the West Bank.
Protesters braved a short downpour at Berlin's historic Brandenburg Gate by holding up signs backing the Palestinian right to live in Jerusalem.
The rally also reiterated its strong support for Palestinian activist Firas Maraghy who has been on a three-week-long hunger strike in front of the Israeli embassy in Berlin over the Zionist regime's refusal to issue travel documents to his seven-month-old infant daughter which would allow her to live in occupied Jerusalem.
Berlin has been the scene of several rallies in solidarity with Maraghy's cause over the past two weeks.
Maraghy who branded Israel a "racist state," has vowed to continue his hunger strike until Israeli officials grant him the necessary documents for his daughter.
His humanitarian case has become of major interest to Germany's mainstream media which usually does not dare to criticize the Zionist regime because of deep German guilt over Nazi-era mass crimes against Jews./end
