OIC backs Iran’s nuclear stands
Tehran, Aug 16, IRNA – Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said Sunday evening that he supports Iran’s nuclear stands, praising Tehran’s strategic role in the international and regional arenas.
Ihsanoglu made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s new envoy to the OIC Hamid-Reza Dehqani while he was submitting his credentials to the OIC chief.
Ihsanoglu backed Iran’s nuclear activities meant for peaceful purposes while referring to the important role Tehran plays in world developments including the Palestinian and nuclear issues.
Dehqani, for his part, called for strengthening of the organization in order to achieve the OIC objectives. He further called for support for the Islamic states’ rights worldwide./end
