Russian editor denounces Obama's wrong policy toward Iran

Moscow, Aug 15, IRNA – A Russian editor said here on Sunday that the US President Barack Obama has adopted a wrong policy towards the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine told IRNA that the US foreign policy is based on creating obstacles in the way of Iran’s progress and development.
Washington is trying to sow discord among regional states and create tension throughout the Mideast region, he added.
Criticizing the US warmongering approach, he stressed that by adopting such policies, the US is attempting to rule over the huge energy sources in the Middle East, Central Asia and the Caspian Sea. He reiterated that Tehran is the main obstacle in the way of materialization of such a Washington’s strategy.
Since Washington is concerned over Iran’s independent stands regarding Mideast disputes as well as support for the Palestinians rights, it tries to isolate Tehran at international arena by exerting various kinds of pressures on the country, the Russian expert noted.
Condemning the recent sanctions imposed on Iran, he stressed that Obama’s anti-Iran approach has been formed under the pressure of the Zionists lobby.
As to initiative of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad regarding direct talks with President Obama, he said the Zionists lobby would not let Obama participate in the debate. The Zionists well know that President Ahmadinejad would ask Obama on Washington’s support for Israeli nuclear arsenal, he added.
Korotchenko further supported Tehran-Moscow economic, technical and military cooperation, saying such cooperation would be to the benefit of both sides’ strategic interests./end
