Man charged in Melbourne shootings
The man charged with the double shooting murders in Melbourne on Friday says he did
a good thing by killing the men.
Dressed in a dark grey suit and pale blue shirt, Adam Kosian, 52, of Brunswick East,
appeared in an out of session court hearing at St Kilda Road police complex on
Saturday afternoon charged with two counts of murder.
Boris Kostov, 60, of Werribee, and Goran Vasic, 44, of Footscray, were gunned down
outside Players of Lygon in Carlton at 4.50pm on Friday.
Kosian shuffled his feet nervously, then broke down in tears as the male bail
justice told him he would be remanded in custody to face Melbourne Magistrates Court
on Monday.
"I am not sorry for those people I kill," he told the court.
"I do a good thing.
"They put my sleeping tablets ... motherf***ers."
After bursting into tears, Kosian gestured with his hands and added: "I ... like
that and I do animal."
Kosian said he had been to two "mental hospitals" in Queensland and one in Victoria.
Asked if he needed prescription medication while in custody, he said he did and when
the bail justice asked how the police had treated him, he said, motioning to police
in the room: "These two men the best policemen."
Detective Senior Constable Jason Poulton said Kosian made full admissions to police
after his arrest.
