BISHKEK, August 12 (Itar-Tass) - Kyrgyzstan's parliamentary elections
due on October 10 are estimated at approximately 3 million U.S. dollars,
the chairman of the republic's central election and referendum commission,
Akylbek Sariyev, told reporters on Thursday.
Later in the day the commission is expected to adopt a spending scheme
of the election campaign. He noted that the funds for training of the
commission's members and maintaining polling stations will be increased.
The number of polling stations will grow by 16 to 2,297.
New polling stations will be opened in some villages, which residents
earlier had to travel to nearby regions by bus to cast their ballots.
At present, thirteen parties submitted written notifications of the
participation in the election race.
The central election and referendum commission has already approved 26
official authorized representatives - two from each party.
