US pressure on Iran indicates its weakness: Russian expert

Moscow, Aug 12, IRNA – A Russian expert said that the US pressures exerted on Iran and its imposed sanctions are indicative of Washington’s weaknesses.

The statement was made by Rajab Safarov, Director of the Center for Contemporary Iranian Studies in Moscow..

He added that such US moves are aimed at weakening the Iranian economy. Washington is trying to achieve its political goals regarding the Islamic Republic, he added.

Safarov regretted that the US has even supported terrorist operations and massacre of innocent civilians in order to achieve its objectives.

Referring to the Islamic Republic of Iran as a powerful country with numerous potentials in various fields, he underscored that all the US conspiracies have been neutralized by the Iranian nation and government.

On Tehran-Moscow relations, he stressed that bilateral cooperation is to the benefit of all regional countries, including the two neighboring states.

Iran-Russia amicable ties would prevent presence of extraterritorial powers in the region, he added.

Safaraov called on Moscow to refrain from entering the US diplomatic games since relations with Iran would be to its benefit./end
