Russia not to face leaps of bread prices - Skrynnik

MOSCOW, August 11 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Agriculture Minister Elena
Skrynnik said on Tuesday there would be no leap of bread prices in Russia
because the country had enough grain to meet its internal needs.
"There are no grounds to believe that bread prices will go up for
consumers," Skrynnik said in a live interview with the Ekho Moskvy radio
station.
She also added that an embargo on grain exports hadn't reduced
purchase prices for grain.
"All the grain produced in the country will be reclaimed," she said.
"The country's grain stocks, including private farm holdings, are
estimated at 24.1 million tons. Without private farm holdings, it's 21
million tons. Our intervention fund is 9.5 million tons," Skrynnik
emphasized.
"Our grain reserves and production output estimated at 65-67 million
tons under the most optimistic scenario and the pessimistic forecast worth
60 million tons will make it possible to meet the internal grain demand by
150%," Skrynnik stressed, adding there's no threat of famine in Russia.
