Lions' Brown found guilty of tripping

(AAP) - Brisbane captain Jonathan Brown has lost his five-year good record after the AFL tribunal found him guilty of tripping.

Brown was only risking demerit points by contesting the charge on Tuesday night, but
clearly the Lions wanted to preserve the good-record provision.
It gave him a 25 per cent discount on his penalty for tripping West Coast's Scott
Selwood, reducing the penalty from 80 points to 60.
Brown's team-mate Joel Patfull pleaded not guilty to a rough conduct charge and was
cleared by the tribunal.
Eagles defender Brett Jones was left with a depressed fracture of the cheekbone
after the clash with Patfull and he had surgery on Tuesday, ending his season.
Earlier on Tuesday night, West Coast forward Quinten Lynch was cleared of kneeing
Brisbane defender Brent Staker.
The two big cases of the session will be rough conduct charges against Hawthorn
defender Brent Guerra and Western Bulldogs ruckman Jordan Roughead.
With the finals three weeks away, Guerra is risking a two-match ban and Roughead is
up for a one-game suspension by going to the tribunal.
The tribunal found Patfull not guilty of the charge.
