FISA HIGHLIGHTS AZERBAIJAN`s HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT IN ROWING JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Baku, August 10 (AzerTAc). The International Rowing Federation (FISA) highlighted Azerbaijan`s achievement at the 2010 World Rowing Junior Championships in Racice, Czech Republic.
In its article “2010 World Rowing Junior Championships in Racice, Czech Republic”, FISA writes: “Azerbaijan earned their first medal ever at a junior world event. In the final sprint Germany let loose, charging for the line at the fastest pace and then doing a huge push with 100m left to row. Greece held on. Azerbaijan sprinted with a wary eye on the French. Greece win gold. Germany take silver and Azerbaijan earn their first junior medal ever. Glotov and Drenovski become the first Azerbaijanis to win a medal.”
Radoslav Drenovski: “This was a very hard race. I think we lost the silver medal over the last 200m, but bronze is fantastic as well!”
Aleksandr Glotov: “Amazing. My third Junior World Championships and finally a medal. The first medal ever for my country at a World Rowing Junior Championships!
