STATISTICS: 1,823 DISASTERS OCCUR
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ According to statistics of the first seven months of this year, 1,823 disasters occurred nationwide. Due to them, 175 people died, 9.7 million heads of livestock perished.
If to classify by types, 1,542 disasters were object fires, 22--heavy snow- and sandstorms, 25--flood, and 27--earthquakes which were recorded higher than 3 magnitudes.
The estimated damages caused by the disasters amounted to MNT 529.9 billion in the first seven months of 2010.
