INDUSTRIAL OUTPUT REACHES MNT 1,014.5 BILLION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In the first seven months of 2010, the total industrial output increased by MNT 139.1 billion or 15.9 per cent to MNT 1,014.5 billion (at 2005 constant prices) against the previous year.
The increase was due to the increase in main industrial products such as coal, crude oil, iron ore, fluor spar concentrate, all types of meat, milk, yogurt, ice-cream, wheat flour, alcoholic beverage, wine, beer, soft drinks, juice, combed down, felt, sawn wood, cement, lime, metal sleeper, copper, metal foundries and steel casting etc.
The industrial output indicated an increase in mining of coal and lignite extraction of peat (83.0%), extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas (64.8%) and other mining and quarrying (24.2%) for the mining and quarrying sector; in manufacture of wearing apparel, dressing and dyeing of fur (44.6%), production of other non-metallic mineral products (40.7%), manufacture of food products and beverages (39.5%), manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (31.5.%), manufacture of rubber and plastics products (25.0%), publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media (20.0%), manufacture of wood and wooden products (18.2%), manufacture of textiles (17.8%), manufacture of basic metals (9.5%), manufacture of tobacco products (8.9%),manufacture of coke, refined petroleum products and nuclear fuel (4.4%) for the manufacturing sector compared to the same period of previous year.
For the electricity, thermal energy and water supply subdivision, there was an increase in production of electricity, thermal energy and steam (7.2%).
