PRIME MINISTER IN ZAVKHAN

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister S.Batbold arrived August 8 in Zavkhan aimag. He visited the aimag's food market, meat factory, united hospital and got acquainted with road running. Meetings were held between the Premier and local people and authorities as well.
The Premier ordered related Minister to allot money to the state budget of 2011 for paving of a 17 km road to “Donoi” airport. Then, he held a meeting with people of the Uliastai city, a center of the aimag, and introduced them to the government's works, policy and decisions.
Being there, the Premier gave a response to all requests that had been put by the aimag authorities to the previous cabinet.
For a 77 km paved road, which has been run between Arvaikheer and Bayankhongor, a MNT 8.8 billion has been allotted in the 2010 state budget, and an executor of the road running has been selected, he said. A project of constructing a 269 km paved road between Altai and Bayankhongor and a 470 km paved road between Bayankhongor and Uliastai will be implemented through concessionary contracts, he said and added these roads will be constructed by private enterprises.
"The 'Taishir' hydropower station was constructed with capital of over MNT 40 billion from the state budget and loans of foreign projects," he went on. An investment of MNT 21.1 billion was made in 2008-2009 from the state budget for constructing sub-stations of the soums to be connected with the “Taishir” station through electric lines. In addition to it, MNT 455.0 million has been spent for supporting irrigated land farming and strengthening veterinary service, he said.
