THOUGHTS ABOUT AGRICULTURE IN ALTAI
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Gobi-Altai aimag intends to improve agriculture manufacture, and increase against the previous year the arable lands by 500 hectares and harvest by not less than 1,000 tons.
Judging by preliminary results, grain has been sowed on 585,9, potato on 193, vegs on 107 hec, fodder plants on 512, medicinal herbs on 131 and fruits on 82 hectares.
As the Premier S.Batbold said at a meeting with the locality people, if to improve exploitation of irrigation system in the Gobi and to create some necessary conditions, the Gobi region may give a greater amount of many kind of fruits and fodder plants than the Khangai region does.
