PREMIER MEETS LOCAL PEOPLE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Mongolia's Prime Minister S.Batbold met the local people while working in Gobi-Altai aimag on August 7.
"I do understand that your province needs more education specialists and has an insufficient infrastructure, and we will pay more attention to eliminating these problems in a short time," he said.
Mongolian State intends to elevate the education to the international level, to educate students to such a rate that equips them with languages knowledge and allows them to enrol straightly in foreign universities.
After entering the Premiership S.Batbold met the staffers of educational sector, got acquainted with the works to be done in this sector and gave them some certain tasks. At the meeting, the gathered said they support the Premier's intention to renovate programs of the educational system such as closing a poor quality universities and establishing students' towns.
In the aimag, there are 650 full time teachers, of them 263 are working in elementary grades. The aimag's authority say that the needs in proffesional teachers are covered by 99 percent.
