PRIME MINISTER IN GOBI-ALTAI

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister S.Batbold arrived August 7 in Altai city, Gobi-Altai aimag. He visited factories of “Airgiin khad” and “Yentum” companies and a new hospital which is ready to put into use, and met the local people.
On behalf of the government, the Premier congratulated the Gobi-Altai's people on the 70th anniversary of the aimag, and introduced them to governmental works, policy and decisions.
He noted that the government wants to provide all aimags and soums with reliable energy resource and to connect them with the united energy net. Mentioning that a provision of electric power is the most urgent matter in the aimag, the Premier underlined that the government has spent a total of MNT 90-95 billion for constructing a hydropower station and 1,800-km electric line and sub-stations in order to provide Gobi-Altai and Zavkhan provinces with energy.
The Premier said the cabinet backed erecting of this station taking into account its fewer hazards to environment. As of present, the aimag's two soums only are receiving electricity from the hydropower station because the power station's pool has not been filled with water for a standard level. Thanks to rich rains this summer, it is expected that experimental operation of the station will run at its full capacity by September this year.
The thermal power station will be put into use on Mogoi River in Khovsgol aimag by November of 2011.
