PRESIDENT RECEIVES INVITATION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj received an invitation from Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, to become a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Climate Change.
Professor Schwab writes:"Dear Mister President, thank You for Your participation and contributions to Global Agenda Council on Climate Change in Year 2009 as our distinguished guest. I am pleased to invite You to become a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Climate Change 2010 given Your thought and leadership in this field.
Each of our Councils, comprised of 15 to 20 members, serves as an informal advisory board to the World Economic Forum and, through the Forum, to the international community. The Councils represent the world’s foremost integrated ‘intelligence’ network of innovative thinking and idea exchange on global issues.
The Network of Global Agenda Councils has already demonstrated its importance as a much needed catalyst for improved global cooperation on key issues.
The Global Agenda Councils are now integrated in the Global Agenda Partnership, which unites the world’s most relevant experts, including business and government leaders, in an ongoing, comprehensive and co-creative process to monitor and address global, regional and industry challenges.
The interaction among all Council Members mainly takes place during the one-year term via WELCOM, the Forum’s state-of-the-art virtual platform. You are also cordially invited as our guest to participate in the Summit of the Network of Global Agenda Councils in Dubai in the end of November 2010.
I hope You will accept my invitation, which will allow You to have a significant impact on our global future.”
The President Elbegdorj participated in the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, in January 2010, as a distinguished guest of the Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Climate Change. He actively participated in the video-conferences of the Council and Copenhagen Climate Change Conference 2009.
Members of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Climate Change have included Nobel Laureate, Oscar winner Mr. Al Gore, the 45th Vice President of the USA, Mr. Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mr. Timothy Wirth, President of the United Nations Foundation.
