Compensations to fire victims are delayed in some regions - view
MOSCOW, August 8 (Itar-Tass) --In Russia's not all regions, which
suffered from the wildfires, the compensations for lost property and
social allowances are paid timely, head of EMERCOM's department of civil
protection Sergei Shaposhnikov said.
From August 3, in 14 regions there are special commissions to control
overcoming of the consequences of the emergency situation, caused by
wildfires and fires at peat fields.
The commissions unite representatives of Russia's EMERCOM /Ministry of
Emergency Situations/, Ministries of healthcare and social development, of
regional policies and of agriculture.
The payments are been done in time and in full in the Ulyanovsk,
Lipetsk and Belgorod regions, the commission reported.
"Emergency payments in the Moscow Region were paid to 93 percent of
the victims, in the Nizhny Novgorod Region - to 83 percent, and in the
Tambov Region - to 84 percent," Shaposhnikov said. "The payments were
delayed in the Voronezh Region, where only 68 percent got them, in
Mordovia - 69 percent, and in the Ryazan Region - 71 percent."
Payments for lost property are made efficiently in the Vladimir
Region, and worse in the Ryazan Region and Mordovia, he said.
"The Voronezh Region has not even started to make these payments yet,"
he said.
Allowances for dead relatives were paid in full in the Lipetsk, Moscow
and Belgorod regions. While in Mordovia, the Nizhny Novgorod and Ryazan
regions they have not been even started, he said.
The government of the Kirov Region has not yet made a decision on the
payments, Shaposhnikov said.
"79 victims of the fires in that region have not received anything,"
he added. "It is fully the responsibility of the local authorities, since
the federal budget has transferred all required money in full."
The special commissions work on reconstruction of the housing, he said.
"In the Lipetsk Region, they bought flats for eleven homeless victims,
and most regions have already allocated the construction sites - in the
Belgorod, Vladimir, Ivanovo, Lipetsk, Moscow, Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod
regions and in Mordovia," he said.
However, construction sites are not set in the Tambov, Tula and
Ulyanovsk regions.
