Higher Yemeni-Syrian Joint Committee holds 10th session in Sana`a
SANA'A, Aug. 07
(Saba)- Meetings of the 10th session of the Higher Yemeni-Syrian Joint Committee
kicked off
in Sana'a on Saturday co-chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar and the Syrian Prime
Minister Muhammad Naji al-Utri.
The opening session reviewed cooperation relations between the two countries and
horizons of reinforcing and improving them in a way serving the joint interests of
the peoples
of Yemen and Syria, in addition to the level of implementing the signed agreements,
protocols and MoUs by the two countries in the previous session which was held in
2009
in the Syrian Damascus capital.
The committee shed lights on reliable means to deepen the economic relations,
specially in the commercial and investment areas as well as agricultural aspects,
social affairs,
social security, technical and vocational training and development of small and
micro enterprises, in addition to activating role of the Yemeni and Syrian private
sectors
in serving development trends and holding joint investment projects.
The two sides also addressed the related aspects to developing and expanding
cooperation between the two brotherly countries in all domains to reach the sought
after partnership,
in addition to opening the way for the bilateral political, economic, cultural and
social areas to further flourish.
Moreover, the discussions dealt with the latest developments in the regional and
international arenas of concern to both countries, specially the latest
developments in
Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Sudan and Somalia and stances of the two countries towards
them.
