Russia`s 5G fighter should be cheaper foreign analogues - Ivanov.
TURAYEVO, Moscow region, August 7 (Itar-Tass) - Vice Premier Sergei
Ivanov believes that Russia's fifth generation fighter should be cheaper
than foreign analogues.
"The fighter should cost much cheaper its analogues made abroad," he
told a meeting at the Central Institute of Aviation Motors on Friday.
At present, 5G fighters are produced in series only in the United
States - F-22 (Raptor). One such plane costs $390 million, Ivanov said.
The vice premier noted that Russia's fifth generation fighter
undergoes tests with the first generation engine.
"Our task that we should always remember that the plane's capacities
depend on the engine's parameters to a great degree," he said adding that
the meeting focused on the creation of the second generation engine for
the fighter.
