PRIME MINISTER IN BAYAN-OLGII
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister S.Batbold arrived Wednesday in Bayan-Olgii aimag. He has met with its authorities and inhabitants to introduced them to the governmental works and plans and to receive their opinions.
Majority of the gathered raised questions of putting the Asgat silver deposit into economic circulation, asked about possibilities of granting remote regions allowances and of erecting a library's building for 1,500 books.
The Premier warned the people that the winter preparation must be ensured. " You may set up groups of herders or joint cooperatives, improve and intensify the livestock breeds, support farms, keep a proper structure of cattle herds, strengthen and expand the fodder farms and increase irrigated areas," he said.
The aimag's authorities said they aim to use the MNT 530 million allotted from the state budget for effective works, and that there are a lot of possibilities to process milk, meat, wool, hide and to catch fishes. According to them, exploratory researches have been conducted into discovering mineral resources such as tungsten steel, gold, silver, mixed metal and iron in Tolbo and Bulgan soums.
The Premier underlined that the local administrative officials should make great effort to put these mineral deposits into economic circulation. The government appreciates negotiations with Russia and China on constructing a 200-km paved road to connect regions of these countries, he added. “A running of a high-voltage lines is underway through all soums of Bayan-Olgii, and a paved road has been created in Ulaanbaishint-Olgii-Khovd route,” he went on and suggested the aimag's authorities to boost a tourism sector using beautiful nature, rare wild animals, historical sites and culture and traditions of many ethnic groups.
Bayan-Olgii province has done many works, for instance, MNT 12 billion's infrastructure and bridge constructions have been completed in 2009-2010; starting from the third quarter of this year, a construction started of a 30-km road between Olgii and Tsagaannuur soums and of a paved road between Olgii and Khashaat soums, with a soft loan of MNT 13 billion from China.
Mentioning about bad indicators in the educational sphere of the aimag, the Prime Minister emphasized that its administration must improve professional skills and knowledge of secondary school teachers, and promised to allot money to the state budget of 2011 for building a school in the aimag's center. Another promise was about solving the province's problem of renovating the Dombra Orchestra and renewing the Musical and Drama Theatre.
The Prime Minister told that several staged works must be done to resolve people's complaints about a bureaucracy and irresponsibility in the health sector. He pointed out that the goal--to develop Bayan-Olgii aimag--will be in center of attention of Mongolia's state and government.
S.Batbold gave a Russian “UAZ-469” jeep to Olgii soum's administration, and said that a decision has been made to grant scholarships named after the Prime Minister to two local students.
After this meeting, S.Batbold met with the aimag's administration, got au fait with construction of a sport complex.
The same day, the Premier left for Khovd province.
