Al-Arhabi meets WB`s mission to develop central finance
SANA'A, Aug.04 (Saba)-
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul Karim al-Arhabi met here on
Wednesday
the World Bank (WB)'s mission for the development of central finance and
coordination between the relevant authorities.
In the meeting, the two sides reviewed a number of issues relating to promoting
cooperation between Yemen and WB in enhancing and supporting the Yemeni
government's efforts
to develop the central finance.
They dealt with details on the development of the institutional coordination
mechanism between the concerned agencies to contribute to strengthen the function
of preparing
medium-term expectations for the fourth five-year plan and the medium-term framework
for expenditures.
Al-Arhabi noted to the WB's keenness to support the government's efforts to boost
the efficiency of the public finance in Yemen.
On another hand, al-Arhabi discussed with the WB's mission on the development of
project to modernize the public finance a number of issues relating to supporting
the reforms
aiming to upgrading the public finance and providing support to Ministries of
Planning and International Cooperation, and Finance, the Higher Authority for
Tenders' Control,
the Central Organization for Controlling and Auditing, and the Higher Committee for
Tenders.
During the meeting, the two sides dealt with issues related to launching the
project to modernize the public finance, which will begin in 2011 and last for five
years with
at total cost of USD 12 million provided by the WB.
