Yemen, Arab Fund initial $ 6 mln grant agreement
SANA'A, Aug.03 (Saba)- Yemen and
the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, based in the State of Kuwait,
initialled
on Tuesday an agreement of USD 6 million grant to help Yemen to ensure the food
security.
The agreement, signed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Abdul
Karim al-Arhabi, and the engineering advisor at the Arab Fund, Majed al-Enzi,
stipulated
that the Arab Fund provides USD 6 million as a grant, offered by the Emir of Kuwait
Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The grant's amount would be devoted for financing projects in the field of food and
providing contributory services within achieving the main goals of the Arab Fund in
combating
poverty and unemployment and improving living conditions of the poor.
After signing the agreement, al-Arhabi commended the Kuwaiti Emir's grant to Yemen,
pointing that this initiative falls in the framework of the growing development
seen
by the Yemeni-Kuwaiti cooperation relations, which are encouraged and supported by
the political leaderships in the two brotherly countries.
