Iran defense plans to crush enemy - Minister
Tehran, Aug 3, IRNA – Minister of Defense and the Armed Forces Logistics Brigadier-General Ahmad Vahidi said here on Tuesday morning that Iran has prepared defensive plans to face any threats by the enemies and to make them regret attacking Iran.
Talking to reporters while departing for Oman, Vahidi made the remarks in response to the US Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen who had referred to a possible military action regarding Iran.
Vahidi said drawing up an attack plan on an independant country and threatening them is flagrant violation of the UN Charter. Vahidi added that the position was indicative of the enemies’ weakness to face Iran’s strong will.
On his travel to Muscat, Oman, Vahidi said that the visit is being made upon the invitation of the Omani Minister Responsible for Defense Affairs Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al-Busaidi.
Tehran and Muscat share friendly and brotherly ties, Vahidi said, adding that his visit to Oman aims at deepening bilateral cooperation./end
