2nd regional workshop on postal services begins
SANA'A, Aug. 01 (Saba) - The 2nd Regional Workshop on Postal Services organized by the General Authority for Post and Postal Saving began on Sunday on Sunday.
Organized in cooperation with the Universal Postal Union (UPU), a number of Arab
countries take part in the five-day workshop including Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Saudi
Arabia,
Palestine and Oman, besides Yemen, in addition to representatives of UPU.
The workshop aims to develop the postal services via setting up modern systems for
the technological support evaluation.
It deals with topics pertaining to establishing the main bases of the new project
of developing the postal services and the national directors' tasks. It also seeks
to qualify
the postal cadres on using ABS and ABS light systems and other related systems.
The workshop discusses the priorities of the 2009-2012 Plan as well as some issues
concerning service quality and funding, training and qualification.
