Mashaie: Iran needs no country’s support to continue its policies

Tehran, Aug 2, IRNA – Head of the Presidential Office Esfandiar Rahim Mashaie said that Iran needs no country’s support to continue with its policies.

Mashaie stressed that Iran was ready to confront any country which would help the US in its anti-Iran policies.

Talking to IRNA on Monday, he said the issue of sanctions was a source of disgrace for the West from the very beginning.

He noted that the main objective behind issuing resolutions against Iran was to push Iran into negotiations to gain an upper hand over Iran.

Mashaie said the enemies’ scheme was to make the belief that the Iranian nation and government were not for talks.

He said this was a false claim because Iran has a cultural nation and its government, too, has always advocated negotiations.

He said enemies wanted to intimidate the Iranian nation so that the leaders would step back from defending Iran’s inalienable rights during talks.

The official stressed that Iran was friend of the whole world except the Zionist regime and would deal friendly with all world countries if they treated the Iranian nation on a fair and just basis.

Mashaie further said that this was true even with the US because Iran was ready to cooperate with the US provided the American government acknowledged Iran’s rights and respected the Iranian nation.
