RI-JAPAN FRIENDSHIP FESTIVAL TO BE HELD IN JAKARTA SUNDAY
Jakarta, July 23 (ANTARA) - An Indonesia-Japan Friendship Festival will be held at the Bung Karno Sports Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday (July 27), to be highlighted by the presence of Japanese cartoon character Doraemon and Indonesian traditional art Reog Ponorogo.
The festival to be organized by the Jakarta-Japan Club is part of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Indonesia-Japan diplomatic ties.
The festival will also be highlighted by a performance of Japanese and Indonesian traditional dances and several Indonesian bands such as Letto, and Dewi-Dewi.
On January 18 to 24, 2008, Japanese Prince Akishino and his wife, Princess Kawashimo Kiko, visited Jakarta to attend the peak commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Indonesian-Japanese diplomatic relations.
