Iran: EU will get proper response in case of sanctions

Boroujerd, Lorestan Prov, July 31, IRNA – A leading parliamentarian said that the European Union will get a proper response if it embarks upon implementing sanctions against the nation.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi, who heads the Parliament’s Commission for National Security and Foreign Policy, added that Iran has a multi-million-euro trade exchange with European countries, so sanctions against Iran by the EU member states will definitely harm tens of thousands of workers in those countries.

Stressing that Iran reserves the right to deal accordingly with any country that engages in implementing sanctions against its nation, he added that if some countries decide to impose sanctions against Iran, then Tehran would cut its trade and economic ties with them accordingly and focus on other countries that are not involved in the sanctions scenario.

In the past three decades, he added, Iranians have had first-hand experiences of the outcome of US's unilateral actions and thus such sanction threats make no sense for them.

Boroujerdi noted that Iran managed to however make many of its remarkable progresses during the time of sanctions./end
