Pakistan, Iran agreed to form joint strategy against smuggling, terrorism across border
Islamabad, July 23 PPI: Pakistan and Iran Tuesday agreed to form joint strategy against smuggling and terrorism across the border between the two countries.
This was stated by Advisor on Interior to Prime Minister Rehman Malik while addressing news conference with visiting Iran's acting Vice Minister for InteriorMehdi Hashmi after talks here.
Both the countries also agreed to form a joint committee to overcome sectariandifferences.
Mehdi Hashmi also met Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and conveyed a specialmessage from Iran's President.
He said Pakistan wants cooperation of Iran to expand in tourism, trade andindustrial sectors.
Advisor said Iran promised to resolve problem of electricity shortage in Pakistan.
Water & Power Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has already taken up the matter withIranian government.
