Bligh takes over ALP presidency

Queensland Premier Anna Bligh has taken over the ALP's national presidency.
She succeeds NSW health union boss Michael Williamson in the position, starting on
Friday.
Ms Bligh said her first priority would be getting the Gillard government re-elected
on August 21.
She said she welcomed Labor's decision to launch the federal campaign in Brisbane on
August 16.
