Russian pilot released in Sudan

CAIRO, July 30 (Itar-Tass) -- The pilot of a Russian helicopter has
been released in Sudan, Russian charge d'affaires Yuri Vidakas told Tass
on Thursday.
"I can confirm the release of the Russian pilot. He is currently
staying in the city of Nyala," he said by phone adding the pilot was in a
satisfactory state of health.
Vidakas said the release was confirmed by the foreign ministry of
Sudan and the joint peacekeeping mission of the United Nations and the
African Union in Darfur.
On Monday the Russian foreign ministry said a helicopter of the UtAir
airlines was seized in Darfur with four Russian crew and five Sudanese
passengers.
All of them and the helicopter were later released, except for the
pilot.
